The Winners Emerge

After much deliberation, the judges have selected the winners of the Australian Bush Poetry Film Festival 2023. The coveted title of Best Australian Bush Poetry Film goes to Demetris Yiapanis for his mesmerizing interpretation of Charles Harpur's "A Basket of Summer Fruit." Yiapanis's masterful blend of imagery and spoken-word poetry has captured the essence of Harpur's ode to nature's bounty, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

Marie Craven's poignant adaptation of Henry Lawson's "When Your Pants Begin to Go" has earned her the distinction of Finalist. Craven's sensitive portrayal of the poem's themes of aging and loss has resonated deeply with viewers, highlighting the enduring power of Lawson's words to touch the human heart.

In addition to the top two prizes, the festival also awarded two Honorable Mentions.
